Should have submitted this sooner, but RL has been distracting. Tumblr is the safest bet to see my art when it's fresh, these days.
So I recently saw Mad Max, as you can tell. This was my second go at painting with coffee, and in the end I cheated and added sepia watercolor because the coffee just wasn't getting enough contrast for the darks, even after I double-boiled it. The coffee does give nice texture though, so I'm planning to make use of this technique again. Going for a sort of playing card look, and I knew I couldn't get Immortan Joe's symbol identical so I just flipped and added it a second time in Photoshop. Presented turned both ways for ease of viewing.
