Little D.S.

Does this count as another sketchpage gone mad? D.S. is my all-time favorite of my characters, he's got a meme and some other stuff in the gallery. One evening my girlfriend and I got into this random AU game with him as a little kid. Now I've tried drawing him as a little kid before, but I really suck at drawing kids. The proportions are too different and they just end up looking weird or like teenagers, so I really had to work at this. I had it all shaded and had to erase and redraw parts before I got it right, and apparently the major key was to make his ears bigger. Go figure. Anyways, here's a little albino geek boy who grew up in the Fifties, at some of his favorite activities. First damn time I have ever drawn a kid looking like a kid. Photo reference for the chemistry kit in the top one, and the Weird Tales logo in the bottom one, but no photo ref for D.S. himself.
