Ganesha plush

This was another project for my 365 project blog, which has gotten slowed down from daily, partly because I end up making stuff like this that takes way more than a day. Anyways, you can read the full entry here.

If you don't feel like reading that, the basics are that this guy was made from a very old velour-type shirt. He's about 13 inches tall including hat, entirely hand sewn and obviously he's got some nice beadwork. The eyes are an experimental conglomeration of acrylic paint and gloss globbed over some little white shank buttons, with eyelids glued around them. The axe is a little plastic thing from a toy which I painted up a little, and the flower is made from tissue paper coated in clear nail polish, which is a fascinating technique I learned from a friend. His ears, trunk and arms are wired.
If anybody is interested in paying me a fair amount of money for what he's actually worth, I would be willing to sell him, but otherwise he's sitting on my desk to hopefully help with the many obstacles I seem to have in my life these days.
